1970’s

  • 1973-1976 Greg and Vince Whitehead build and race an MG Midget
  • 1975-1976 Greg races dirt bikes
  • 1975 Brian Bishop runs MG Midget in FP race in the Canadian Road Race of Champions (the Runoffs).  Result:  FP Champion
  • 1976 Vince in the MG Midget participate in the FP race of the Canadian Road Race of Champions (the Runoffs).  Result:  DNF
  • 1977 Greg and Vince Whitehead open Metric Motion – Datsun and import performance and race shop
  • 1978-1979 Greg and Vince campaign Datsun 510 race car at Mosport
  • 1979-1983  Greg builds and maintains Rick Maeder Datsun 510 race car + engines
  • 1979  Vince runs the MG Midget in GT3 at the Canadian Runoffs.  Result: 4th
  • 1979 Rick Maeder runs Datsun 510 in GT2 at the Canadian Runoffs:  Result: 10th

 

1980’s

  • 1980 Metric Motion closes
  • 1980-1983 Greg builds and maintains Datsun (510 and 240Z) and British (Mini Cooper, MGB, Triumph TR6) race cars on his rural property
  • 1980  Rick Maeder Datsun 510 qualify for GT2 race at Canadian Runoffs.  Result:  DNS
  • 1981 Greg and Vince build Datsun B210 race car for Vince to drive and Greg to maintain
  • 1981 Greg  meets Tony Silvaggi while working at Pirana Performance Supplies
  • 1983 Greg and Vince Whitehead open Sanroc Performance  – Datsun Toyota Honda main street car specialties, Datsun race car prep and maintenance
  •  Fact: The name Sanroc came from Santos and Rocco, Vince and Greg’s nicknames in high school
  • 1983 Vince runs the Datsun B210 in GT2 at the Canadian Runoffs.  Result: 8th
  • 1983 John Cosgrove in MGB run GT2 at the Canadian Runoffs. Result:  19th
  • 1984 Greg hires Tony Silvaggi as main mechanic
  • 1984 Vince and the Datsun B210 run in GT2 at the Canadian Runoffs.  Result:  DNF
  • 1985 Vince becomes GT3 Champion at the Canadian Runoffs in the B210
  • 1986-1989 Sanroc Performance builds and maintains Brian Bishop Datsun B210 race car + engines
  • 1986 Vince’s involvement in Sanroc Performance ends.  Engines for Datsun B210 race car still built and maintained at Sanroc
  • 1986 Vince and the Datsun B210 run in GT3 at the Canadian Runoffs.  Result:  DNF
  • 1987 Greg enters into new partnership to concentrate on race engine building and race car prep and setup
  • 1987 Greg meets Ahmad Khodkar
  • 1987 Greg runs MGB race car in CASC-OR Regional Races
  • 1987 Vince and the B210 run in GT3 at the Canadian Runoffs. Result: 3rd
  • 1987-1997 Sanroc Performance builds and maintains Ahmad Khodkar #11 Datsun 240Z race car + engines
  • 1988 Vince and John Cosgrove run the Datsun B210 in GT3 class in inaugural Canadian Firestone Firehawk series.  Result:  3 1st place finishes and GT3 Championship
  • 1988 Brian Bishop and his Datsun B210 run in GT3 at the Canadian Runoffs.  Result:  5th
  • 1988-1993 Greg Whitehead and Ahmad Khodkar run the #11 Datsun 240Z in CASC-OR Regional Races
  • 1988 Ahmad Khodkar runs the #11 Datsun 240Z in GT2 at the Canadian Runoffs. Result:  22nd
  • 1989 Greg Whitehead and Ahmad Khodkar codrive the #11 Datsun 240Z in GT class in the Firestone Firehawk series Results:
    • Round 1 June 11th Mosport:  1st place
    • Round 2 July 2nd Mosport:  1st place
    • Round 3 July 16th Mosport:  2nd place
    • Round 4 July 30th Mont Tremblant: 2nd place
    • Final Result: 1989 Firestone Firehawk GT Class Champions
  • 1989 Vince and his Datsun B210 run in GT3 at the Canadian Runoffs.  Result: Champion
  • 1989 Brian Bishop and his Datsun  B210 run in GT3 at the Canadian Runoffs. Result:  3rd
  • 1989 Ahmad Khodkar runs the Datsun 240Z in GT2 at the Canadian Runoffs. Result:  Champion

 

1990’s

  • 1990 Greg attains FIA International C Class Racing Licence
  • 1990 June 24 Greg Whitehead and Ahmad Khodkar codrive the #11 Datsun 240Z  in IMSA GTU class at the Mosport Nissan Grand Prix.  Result:  5th in class, 11th overall
  • 1990 Vince and his Datsun B210 run in GT3 at the Canadian Runoffs.  Result: 2nd
  • 1990 Ahmad Khodkar runs the Datsun 240Z in GT2 at the Canadian Runoffs. Result:  2nd
  • 1991 Greg becomes GTA Class Champion running #11 Datsun 240Z in CASC-OR Regional Races
  • 1992-1993 Greg becomes Special GT Class Champion running #11 Datsun 240Z in CASC-OR Regional Races
  • 1992-1993 Ahmad becomes GTA Class Champion running #11 Datsun 240Z in CASC-OR Regional Races
  • 1992-1994 Greg and Ahmad build Datsun 240Z ice racer and campaign car for 3 seasons
  • 1994-1997 Greg retires from driving to become crew chief for #11 Datsun 240Z race team
  • 1995-1998 Greg builds and drives turbo Honda Civic race car
  • 1997 Ahmad Khodkar runs #11 Datsun 240Z in GT1 class of inaugural Canada Challenge GT Series.  Result: Overall  5th place GT1 class
  • 1998-present Tony Silvaggi becomes #11 Datsun 240Z crew chief, mechanic and engine builder
  • 1998 Ahmad Khodkar runs #11 Datsun 240Z in GT2 class of Canada Challenge GTSeries Result:  Overall 4th place GT2 class
  • 1998-2006  Sanroc/Whitehead Performance builds and maintains John Cosgrove #03 1990 300ZX race car + engines
  • 1999 Ahmad Khodkar runs #1 Datsun 240Z in GT2 class of Canada Challenge GT series Result:  Overall 1st place 1999 GT2 Champion

 

2000’s – Present

  • 2000 Sanroc Performance changes to Whitehead Performance
  • 2000 Ahmad Khodkar runs #1 Datsun 240Z in GT2 class of Canada Challenge GT series
    • Round 10 Sept 17 Mosport:  6th place
    • Round 11 Oct 1 Mosport:  8th place
  • 2001 Ahmad Khodkar runs #11 Datsun 240Z in Canada Challenge GT series Result: Overall  15th place
  • 2002-present Whitehead Performance maintains Diane Dale #113 Datsun 240Z + builds engines
  • 2004-present Whitehead Performance builds engines and does occasional maintenance for Neil Young Datsun 240Z race car
  • 2004-present Whitehead Performance refreshes engine and does occasional maintenance for Geoff and Rob McCord 240Z race car
  • 2006-present Whitehead Performance refreshes engine and maintains Lee Good Datsun 240Z race car
  • 2006-2007 Whitehead Performance maintains Anthony Buso Eagle Talon – ex Archer Brothers race car
